On the afternoon of Wednesday April 14, 2010 the Bay Shore Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire at 29 Redmond Avenue. BSFD units were met with a fire in a detached garage that had extended to a private dwelling. While the first responding units units went to work on the fire, Bay Shore command requested that the Islip Fire Department be activated to provide a FAST Team. Although Ladder 3-4-11 responded as the FAST Truck its crew was tasked an acting truck company .
